Xantrex acquires EEC

In March 2007 Xantrex acquired the Elgar Electronic Corporation, the largest supplier of DC and AC power supply products in the USA.  Their products include the Sorensen, Elgar, Reflex Power, and Power Ten brands.

On March 8, 2001, a Xantrex 1000-watt programmable power supply was launched into space aboard the U.S. Space Shuttle Discovery destined for the International Space Station. 

NASA selected the Xantrex XHR to be part of a portable electronics workbench to test and repair electronic equipment within the zero-gravity space station.
