Wide range of patterns
On all models you will find the test patterns and capabilities you'll need to test and align the total video signal path. There are over 500 test patterns - for calibrating geometry (in 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio), synchronization, focusing or static and dynamic convergence. You'll find patterns for checking bandwidth (md. sin(x)/x pattern), interference (such as cross color), amplitude response, tracking and clipping, as well as for color reproduction, cut off setting, high voltage stability, analog to digital conversion and much more. I
Sound choices (Fluke 54200 only)
In addition to standard mono audio signals, the Fluke 54200 optionally supports analog stereo (BIG, A2 and Mk) and digital stereo (NICAM) systems. A BTSC sound channel can be included to test multi-channel television sound (MTS) and a second audio program (SAP).
Stable RF output (Fluke 54200 only)
The HF output on the Fluke 54200 TV Generator covers the entire RF frequency range from 32 to 900 MHz, including TV-receivers' IF ranges. The output frequency can be set directly with a resolution of 50
kHz. For fast and precise reference you can enter the HF-amplitude either in mV or dBpV, 100 mV max. (100 dBi.1V) over the entire range. Group Delay pre-correction, also known as group delay ifitering, allows you to test applications that need accurate luminance and chrominance timing. The HF section can also be used with external video ai4 audio (mono/stereo) signals as a modulator for test transmission and in cable distribution networks.
The 54200 now incorporates a special, low phase noise HF synthesizer built on the latest RF-technology
Extensive data capabilities
In addition to video, the 54000 series offer extensive data
capabilities. A host of test signals is available: Teletext (TOP, FLOF and VPT), Antiope, WideScreen Signaling (WSS), Program
Delivery Control (PDC), Video Program System (VPS) and Closed Caption, including V-chip program coding (line 21
XDS).

PM 5410 Series
Features
- Over 100 patterns available
Supports PAL, NTSC and SECAM
16:9 and 4:3 Aspect Ratios
Mono, Stereo and Dual Sound Systems
RF selection
All models (except PM 5414V) cover the entire RF carrier frequency range 32 to 900 MHz, including the IF and all TV transmission bands, as well as all S- and hyperband cable TV channels.
The carrier can automatically be switched off at 10 seconds intervals to test the synchronization circuitry.
Teletext FLOF, TOP and VPT
The test facilities of the PM 5410 family have been extended by a selection of teletext pages including normal teletext, FLOF (Full
Level One Features), TOP (Table Of Pages) and VPT (Video Programming by Teletext).
Y/C + ROB option
The Y/C + RGB module provides the separate luminance and chroma (Y/C) outputs needed by newer generation S-VHS / Hi-8 video recorders and Y/C monitors.
NICAM digital sound and MTS Stereo and SAP (BTSC Sound)
The PM 5410 family provides the ability to select more than 55 digital sound test signals instantly, at any time. The generators provide two digital sound channels with selectable low- or high-amplitude signals to test the expander of the TV receiver. In accordance with the BTSC standard, Multi-channel Television Sound (MTS), is available in combination with NTSC M and PA~ M TV standards.
PDCIVPS test facilities and Closed Caption (Line 21 Data services)
PDC/VPS data is shown in a 1/6 screen height horizontal bar which can be combined with any test pattern and displayed in six positions, either on- or off-screen. The PM 5410 family offers both Caption and Text modes in either of two operating channels.
